HOUSING ACCESS & AFFORDABILITY

Housing is more than just a roof over our heads - it's a fundamental cornerstone of our lives. I am dedicated to making sure everyone in Colorado has a safe, affordable place to call home. However, in recent years, we have seen a surge in housing prices, making it increasingly difficult for many Coloradans to secure stable and affordable housing.

Colorado's vibrant economy and beautiful landscapes have drawn many new residents, leading to a surge in demand for housing. This increased pressure, coupled with rising costs of living, has resulted in an affordability crisis that is leaving too many Coloradans behind. Working families, young professionals, and our elderly residents are finding it increasingly difficult to afford housing that suits their needs.

As a member of the Colorado House of Representatives, I am committed to addressing these housing challenges through policies and legislation that promote affordability and availability. This includes pushing for increased funding for affordable housing development, supporting renters' rights and protections, promoting innovative housing solutions, and addressing zoning laws that can restrict housing development.

We also cannot ignore the issue of homelessness that continues to affect our communities. It's not just a housing issue; it's a matter of social justice and human dignity. We need to strengthen support systems for those experiencing homelessness, and ensure that they have access to affordable housing and the resources they need to get back on their feet.

Solving our housing challenges is not a task for the government alone. We need partnerships between government, the private sector, and non-profit organizations to develop comprehensive and effective solutions. We must also make sure that our housing policies are inclusive and equitable, addressing the needs of all Coloradans, regardless of their income, race, or background.

Together, we can make Colorado a state where everyone has a place to call home.
